Youth Section
Dundee Wanderers Hockey Club is committed to provide youth hockey opportunities to across the city and further afield. We run a number of training sessions for our juniors throughout the year working closely with Dundee Sports Development Team and schools across the city.
Below you will find some information on the training sessions that we currently have available, please note that there are also a number of sessions for the senior part of the club. If we feel that it safe and appropriate, some younger members may be asked to join in with this training.
Most of our Outdoor hockey (for juniors) is held at Dundee International Sports Complex (DISC), you will find directions by going to our Contact Us section.
New to hockey? Don’t worry, we have a great deal of equipment available at pitch side for new comers.
Youth Training:
24th August 2010 to 9th November 2010
Outdoor Hockey, Dundee International Sport Complex (DISC)
5.30 to 7pm for 5 - 14 year olds
Each sessions costs £2.50, payable at the gate. New members get their 1st 2 sessions free.
16th November 2010 to 21st December 2010
Indoor Hockey, Mayfield Sport Centre, Arbroath Road (High School of Dundee Ground)
5.30 - 6.30pm for 7 - 12 year olds
6.30 - 7.30pm for 12 - 15 year olds (others may be selected to come along to this session based on ability and numbers)
Due to limited numbers we would appreciate that any new members contact us prior to turning up for these sessions. This can be done through Contact Us page.
18th January 2011 to 22nd February 2011

As part of our hockey development we also work with a number of schools to ensure that hockey is developed across the city.
Schools that we are associated with include:
Morgan Academy and Feeder Schools
26th August 2010 and every Thursday thereafter from 4 - 5.30pm. These sessions are run in partnership with Morgan Academy and Dundee City Sports Development Team. Sessions cost £1 each, if you are interested in coming along please contact Ben Gibson on 07803513797 or contact your school directly.
Glebelands Primary School (feeder to Morgan Academy)

In addition to these sessions we also hold a Summer Camp every year. This is run in conjunction with Dundee Sports Developments "Passport to Sport" scheme and normally runs 1 week before the schools are due to return from Summer Holidays. Youth Competition
Dundee Wanderers Hockey Club believes that it is important that out youths experience health competition in order for their hockey to improve. If you go to the Meet the Teams section, you will see the variety of youth teams that we have and the competitions that they compete in.
JUNIOR BAG PACK AT MORRISONS
A huge thanks again to all of the juniors who gave their time to raise funds for the Juniors. A two hour stint by each of them (one even volunteered to stay and do an extra two hours!!!) raise a massive £577.00. Thanks again (until the next bag pack!!)
